BYCS receives funding from a range of different agencies and organisations for its activities. The main funding comes from its revenue grant from the City Council for leisure activities. Funding also comes from the Community Fund and NOF for training programmes and the computer and IT resource development programme. Grants from education provide for the Bengali language classes and the centre receives revenue grants from the Lloyds TSB Foundation to assist with the IRCSP drop-in sessions.
Some of the activities mentioned above take place outside of the centre due to pressure of space. The Bengali language schools take place at Medway School as well as at BYCS.
The
Centre is OCR registered and also registered for the Institute of Language
Bilingual Skill Certification, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health for
Basic and Intermediate Food Hygiene, Stress Analysis, and is also accredited as
a centre for Basic Health and Safety Certification and AQA accredited
courses.
